Listening centers are ideal ways for teachers to create smaller differentiated learning groups for students in literacy and language development activities. Unlike a learning center (which includes the media player along with the jackbox and headphones), these heavy-duty listening centers contain the necessary components except the media player so they can supplement your own existing audio source.
Stereo listening centers connect with a tablet, smartphone, a multimedia player or are used for computer-based learning. Monaural centers are typically used with cassette players. Both are available with a choice of a storage case or a headphone rack.
Both types of listening centers include four (stereo only), six or eight rugged 2924 series Deluxe headphones. Both have slotted baffles to protect the internal speakers and over-the-ear earcups to minimize ambient noise. The Monaural centers offer a further choice of a straight or coiled headphone cord while the stereo headphones comes only with straight cords.
The monaural jackbox is an 8-position jackbox while the stereo can accommodate up to ten students and both include individual volume controls. The stereo jackbox comes with 3.5mm and ¼” plugs and can be daisy-chained to another stereo jackbox to expand the number of students participating in the listening center.
